Year 2 jump back in time to 1666!

The children in Year 2 had a thrilling day which saw them build their own model of Pudding lane and seeing how a fire can spread so quickly!

The children came into school dressed from the era of the Great Fire of London or as a firefighter to fully immerse themselves. Using knowledge from their science lessons the children investigated which materials would be most suitable to build their houses with the main focus for it to burn quickly.

Once the children had finished building their houses, they ventured out into the forest to build their very own Pudding Lane. Remembering what the firefighters had told them about fire safety whilst visiting Royal Park, the children stood and watched as the fire spread rapidly, burning down all of the homes.

Many of the children were heard saying "This is the best day of my life!"
