Equalities

Equality & Inclusion at Royal Park

Our trust and all our Kemnal schools have a range of policies and procedures in place in order to comply with our duty to:

  • eliminate discrimination, harassment, victimisation and other conduct prohibited by the Equality Act 2010
  • advance equality of opportunity between those who share a relevant protected characteristic and those who do not
  • and foster good relations between those who share a relevant protected characteristic and those who do not

"We are Kind. We are Brave. We show Equity."

At Royal Park Primary Academy, our values aren’t just words on a wall; they are the heartbeat of our school. As a vibrant two-form entry academy, we pride ourselves on being a truly inclusive community where every child—regardless of their starting point—is empowered to succeed.

A Unique Community

We are proud to host two specialist provisions that enrich our entire school culture:

  • Our ASD Provision: A tailored environment supporting neurodiverse learners.

  • Our Physical Disability (PD) Provision: Ensuring our school is a place where physical barriers do not limit potential.

These provisions don’t exist "alongside" our mainstream classes; they are the heart of them. Our mainstream pupils learn firsthand what it means to be brave and kind by growing up in a diverse environment that mirrors the real world.

What Equity Means to Us

While "Equality" means giving everyone the same, "Equity" means giving every child exactly what they need to thrive.

  • In the Classroom: We adapt our teaching so that every learner, whether in our specialist provisions or mainstream classes, can access a "brave" and ambitious curriculum.

  • In the Playground: We ensure our social spaces are accessible and welcoming, fostering friendships that transcend labels.

  • In our Culture: we celebrate diversity through our curriculum, assemblies, and community events, ensuring every family feels they belong at Royal Park.

Our Commitment

In line with the Equality Act 2010, we actively work to eliminate discrimination and advance opportunity for all. We monitor our progress closely to ensure that our pupils with SEND, different cultural backgrounds, or unique family circumstances all receive the support required to shine.

Our Promise: At Royal Park, we don’t just accept difference—we celebrate it. We are brave enough to challenge the status quo, kind enough to support one another, and committed to the equity that allows every child to soar.
