Physically Disabled Resourced Provision Officer

RESOURCED PROVISION FOR CHILDREN WITH PHYSICAL DISABILITIES AT ROYAL PARK PRIMARY SCHOOL

Royal Park is very proud to be the home of a resourced provision for physically disabled children.

We offer a specially adapted building which is primarily on one level and has ramped access to all other parts of the premises. We also have trained professionals to address the physical needs of all children with physical disabilities.

Our resourced provision is specifically for children who have a physical disability as their primary need. This physical need may mean that the children have associated special education needs. Due to Royal Park being a mainstream school, the children that become part of our specialist resourced provision must also be able to access the national curriculum at a level comparable to their peers, with class-based differentiation and support from their class teacher or learning support assistant.

In order to support the physical needs of the children in our resourced provision, we offer a range of programmes: The MOVE programme and physio therapy.

At Royal Park we do not see physical disabilities as a barrier to learning and believe that the disability is not a fixed state.  We provide structured support to extend the children’s physical abilities and set goals to make the children more independent, mobile and ready for the future as they move into secondary school and beyond.
